This guy has been one of my best friends for the past 1.5 years. I have never been a huge exerciser. I do power yoga some times, and I will do some intense videos but not on a regular basis. However, my daily friend is my pedometer.
My goal is to get at least 10,000 steps every day. Do I do it? Nope, but most days I do. Even when I don’t quite reach 10,000, I know I took more steps than if I did not wear it. There is something about seeing the number that encourages me to walk. It motivates me. I have lost about 10 pounds in the past year. I am happy about that. It isn’t just the walking. Because of some health issues I have watched what I eat as well.
It has come to the point that I feel weird when it I don’t have the pedometer on.
If you do get a pedometer I recommend spending a little money on it. You know I am cheap and love to get great deals, but this is something I would not skimp on. Those cheap ones don’t work. When you jiggle, it counts steps. Even riding a car will add steps to your count. I recommend an Omron. This one was about $30 at Scheels, a sporting good stores. It is pretty accurate, and I have been really happy with it. I am sure you can find it at many other places. Just Google it.
So do you use a pedometer or do you do something else to stay fit? Love to hear what you do to stay fit.
Disclaimer: I do not get any money from any of the companies or products mentioned in this post. I am just a consumer of Omron and have been very satisfied with my purchase.
