I mentioned that we were starting homeschooling this week, and we did. However, what I didn’t anticipate is that a cold would find its way into our home. The boys got it first early in the week and then it found me on Wednesday. It has really kicked my behind. I missed an auction last evening and garage sales this morning, yikes.
I am still not feeling the best, but I finally can focus. So if I have to sit, I might as well blog.
But before the cold started I decided to pick all my cucumbers to pickle. I was out in the garden by 6:30 a.m. to get them picked before school started. It took me 1.5 hours to pick this bread pan full of cucs. What you don’t see is that many of them are tiny cucs. We had picked the large ones the night before. In between school I worked on cleaning them. By 1:00 p.m. we had school done, and I had them canned. Then, I was on my back, miserable with the cold and fever. But oh, look what I got done.
10.5 quarts of dill pickles done. Oh it feels so good. I was planning to pickle again tonight, but it just isn’t happening. No energy. Oh well, I will just bask in my accomplishments and watch the Olympics. Is there a gold medal for canning?
