Red tomatoes that is. This year we wanted to do some canning of tomatoes so we planted 18 plants of tomatoes. Many years each plant only yields a few fruit, This year is a bumper crop, so I have almost ripe tomatoes in flats around my counter,
Any on my floor waiting to ripen. Now this is after I just put two flats in my freezer this morning and after my Mom and I canned 14 quarts of pasta sauce and 12 pints of salsa on Saturday. Boy, were we tired, but it will be worth it when we are eating spaghetti with homemade sauce this winter.
The good or bad news, depending on your perspective, is that I have almost as many remaining on the vines that are completely green.
Yep, I am seeing red. Anyone want to come help can some tomatoes in about 10 days?
